ChrysQ Album Slipcover Collection : Vintage Winter Wonderland

The beautiful and talented ChrysQ has come up with one of my favorite products of the year!  She is filling a need in the photography world that I didn’t even realize was missing, until of course I discovered her product and wondered how we, the photographers of the world, have been living without it.  She has developed and designed stunning collections of album slipcovers.  These are an amazing way to ensure that your photo albums are not only protected from wear, but are always in style.  You can get a slipcover custom made to match your wedding colors, disguise itself as a designer handbag… the options are limitless.  Yes, I do know there are other slipcover options out there, but do yourself a favor and don’t even bother, ChrysQ is the only designer doing it right!  Bonus to all of this, she is located right here in Dallas, Tx.

So naturally, when I discovered ChrysQ and her hubby BenQ (who is also a talented photographer) were shooting their winter collection in downtown Dallas and inviting other photographers to be a part of it I signed up, and then proceeded to do a happy dance at my laptop.  I had a blast shooting with and learning from the Q’s down at Thrid Space in downtown Dallas in December!  Not that it was a question, but this product is the newest bit of beauty offered to my clients.  So brides, you may want to scope out the ChrysQ slipcover site. :)

If you do happen to be a photographer, and request one of the winter collection catalogs, be sure to keep an eye out for one of my images, as well as my headshot gracing the workshop page!

The set was vintage winter wonderland glorious…

Yes, the gorgeous woman right there, that’s ChrysQ… hot!

How cute is she in that snow?

I’m not sure why I love this last one so much, but I just do.  I think it’s because when I look at it I imagine the conversation is going something like this- “It’s crazy I know, I look awesome even on the street with paper snow in my hair!” … “Yeah, you look great babe but I’m hungry.  Is is time to hit up Which Wich yet?”  (Speaking of- Which Wich is a yummy sandwich shop downtown that I am now in love with!)

Thanks again to the Q’s!  You two are wonderfully talented, sweet, and inspirational photographers and friends.

No more boudoir posts on this blog…

WHAT?!?  No worries, this is good news my friends!

I am ecstatic to announce that I have officially started a separate boudoir business, ALLURE BOUDOIR!  With our main office in Dallas, Tx!  No worries, we’re still in Knoxville too (finally fulfilling my life goal to be in two places at once).  SO, from now on all of my boudoir posts will be found at http://allureboudoir.com/blog.  But, don’t be surprised if you see a few teasers every once and awhile over here too :)

Everything is still in construction mode (not for long though), I have a website coming, and all kinds of product info that will be flooding the blogs.

I’m also equally excited to show off Allure Boudoir at the Dallas Bridal Show this weekend, July 11 & 12.  I have the honor and privilege of being the FIRST & ONLY boudoir photography booth to exhibit at Dallas Bridal Show.  Come out and see the awesomeness!

So there you have it, now everybody knows why the blog has been quite.  I’ve been insanely busy getting ready for the bridal show, and stocking up on boudoir posts to put on the new blog over the next week.

Take a Hike

This past Sunday the weather was beautiful, and seeing as we were only 45min from scenic mountain views it didn’t make much sense to stay at home. Now, I’m not very athletic and I did have a four year old in tow, so I wasn’t expecting anything sweat worthy. To my surprise Bri and I make a pretty good hiking team, we both have about the same uphill walking pace! All together we trekked for about 1 & 1/2 miles, half of that being straight up the mountain side.

About two thirds of the way up I thought Bri was going to turn around, and I would have been happy to join her. Just as I considered giving in to the high altitude and my weak legs a little boy, about nine years old, passed us on the path heading down. So what’s special about that? Well that little boy only had one leg and was visably struggling but kept going nonetheless. If he could do it, then two able bodied girls, at any age, could do it to. More importantly, I was thankful we could do it.

At the top we found this great look out structure! I would love to do an engagement or family session up there.
